Bingo Information & Event Dates

We are part of the Calgary Community and Sport Bingo Association. 
Our organization is allotted 35 bingo events each year, which are held in the northeast at the Bingo Palace.  (2604-35 Avenue NE, T1Y 6M2)

 
Bingo events held weekday mornings (Mon-Fri / 10:30– 3:30pm) are valued at $65.00 each
All other events (PM, weekends AM/PM and Stat Holidays) are valued at $50.00 each.

What should I expect to do while I am at the event?
The primary duty of each worker position in a bingo hall is to provide excellent customer service! 
 
Each group conducting a bingo event represents all groups in its bingo association, so it very important that workers develop the skills required to succeed in their positions.

The Bingo Palace is located at 2604-35Ave N.E. Please enter by the main doors, you will be met there by our Bingo Chairperson, they will advise you of the location of the “Volunteer Room”, where you can store your belongings, the location of the “Volunteer table “, and give you detailed instructions as to the position and responsibilities associated with it. At the volunteer table, you will need to sign in on the sheets provided. You will be also be given a $5.00 concession voucher that can be used during your break(s).
 
Below are brief descriptions of the positions you might fulfill. 
Please remember to wear comfortable footwear.
 
Ticket Sellers: 
When you sign in you are give a certain type of ticket to sell when someone holds up CASH- they will ask for either a Bonanza or Satellite card (s) (all cards are $1.00).COLORED card- ONLY workers with the respective colored apron will respond and sell those cards. When a “BINGO” is called, the closest worker will help verify the winner and hold up the color of the card they won on. (the player or caller will tell you) Wait with the blocks held up in the air till the runner comes with the player’s winnings.
 
Runner: 
Sells Bonanza and Satellite cards while waiting for a “BINGO” to be called. When a player yells “BINGO” immediately go to the volunteer room where someone will give you a receipt and cash (if applicable). Go to the colored card (the winner) and give the winnings. If the player is using a digital machine the winner may not want their receipt as they are paid online- always ask.
 
Bingo Verifier: 
Sells Bonanza and Satellite cards while waiting for a “BINGO” to be called. When “BINGO” is yelled immediately go to the player (winner) and use the walkie-talkie and repeat back the number to the BINGO caller. The BINGO called will then confirm the numbers. Make sure that the ticket seller waits with the winning colored blocks until the runner comes with the winnings ($).

 
How can I use the voucher that I received?
At the end of each event, the Coordinator will issue each volunteer their program voucher.

Each person must retain their white copy, as you MUST return it when you are redeeming the amount.  Vouchers can be used towards Registration Fees, Team Expenses, or for equipment at Fisher's Soccer Shack.
