Fantastic Season - United 03s!
Congratulation to the United 03 Caledonians on a great indoor season.
.
The United 03, BU15 Tier 1 team saw a season full of challenges along with personal player and team growth.
Starting the season undefeated in pre-season seeding, the team carried their momentum into the 9-a side Aurora Tournament in Saskatoon early in the season. There we had a heart breaking shootout loss in the final and received silver in the U15-T1 division.
With a successful pre-season just behind them, team burst forward with a flying start into the regular season. The Caledonians entered the CMSA’s Family day 7v7 tournament with an undefeated record. Again the group’s mental toughness was tested with a 2-1 loss to Rangers FC in the first game, but they bounced back with a tie and back-to-back victories at the end of the tournament and earned the team’s first gold medal of the season. This success carried into the remaining regular season games and the team finished undefeated with a record of 9 wins, 3 ties and 0 losses for their first tier 1 league championship.
Going into the City Finals, EMFC faced Foothills SC in the Semi-Final and won in a tense penalty shoot-out. However the team fell short 3-2 to CWSC in the Final.
Looking forward, we are setting ambitious goals for the upcoming outdoor season. We are all tremendously proud of the team’s accomplishments this indoor season and I would like to thank Technical Director, Ruben Vasquez, along with assistant coaches, Elmer Ventura, David Rousseau, team manager Lana Merchant, and all of the players and parents for their love and support.
